Disclaimer
This is a blog about marketing. I market products here and if you buy them through a link from this site, hopefully I will make a commission. If I don’t make a commission, something is wrong.
With new rules about marketing online seeming to come out pretty often, I think this is about the safest thing to say about the links and the products I feature here on this blog.
There are links here,of course, that are just to people’s sites and services that I really like and some of those are not commissionable links, just a way to point folks in a direction of quality products.
Sometimes, a product creator changes something about their product or they come out with something new that makes their product remove itself from my comfort zone of making a recommendation for it. So I take away my recommendation.
I just did that this morning, so I decided i would put that into this disclaimer page as well. They didn’t do anything wrong, the product is still OK, its just that they changed it so that I did not want to recommend it any longer. Those things happen.
I don’t necessarily use each of the things I recommend. Not because I don’t believe in them, but they don’t fit my business model. Which is generally niche marketing in big evergreen markets. But I recommend because the products are good, the people who made them are good folks and if I was doing that kind of marketing, I would use that product.
The other thing is, while I do have friends, both online friends and regular people I know personally or have talked with a bunch on the phone, I don’t recommend their products if I don’t feel the products are a good match for you. That is just my opinion, and some folks will recommend anything their friends offer. But I don’t.
The last thing is that just because I don’t recommend it does not mean I don’t like it. Usually, all it means if I don’t write about it, is that I don’t know anything about it – nothing more than that.
