There are a lot of keywords in the world. And there are a lot of markets in the world. And there are also a lot of people searching online with keywords for what they are interested in and what they want to buy.

Its kind of simple, but sometimes not so easy. Especially when you want to sell things in a big market like the losing weight market. There are a lot of people who want to lose weight, who are online looking for a solution to a weight problem. But there are also a lot of websites for them to go to to find an answer to their diet issue.

So how do you get those people to come to your website?

Well, you can buy traffic through Facebook ads or PPC on Google or Bing or Yahoo, but sometimes that seems like a long road between you and that income. And the road seems to be paved with the money you invested in buying traffic for your website.

You can also get people to come to your website by finding your site in a search engine. You don’t have to spend money on buying traffic, but you will put in some time on your site and content and backlinks.

But to make that free traffic scenario possible you need a couple of things. And you need them in a way that costs way less than buying traffic by the click on Adwords.

And wouldn’t it be nice, if you could get a jump start on getting your website up and going in the search engines. Or maybe give one you already have a boost up in the rankings.

Research and results

I spend a lot of time doing keyword research. I am good at it. I like words. I like language. And I like discovering what kinds of things people actually type into a search engine box.

But that’s just me. Some people hate trying to figure out what the best keywords for their site are. I love it. And I have a bunch of tools that help me out in getting lots of research done.

So what I have done is run an analysis for keywords centered around the lose weight idea.

And I came up with a lot of keywords. Just a shade over 3200 of them. I did some sorting on these and managed to cut the list down to about 2000 that had less than 100K in competition.

I don’t have any sites in this market so these are not keywords that I would be using for myself. If I did have sites in this market these are indeed the phrases I would be using.

Like the one that is 5 words long, has comps in quotes of about 21,800 but has search volume of almost 15000 a month with quotes. You have probably been around the internet long enough to know that these numbers are guidelines and sometimes differ depending on what Google data center you get hooked up with. But then you also know how excellent those numbers are.

All of the keyword phrases are not that juicy, but there is a ton of modifier diversity. Lots of extra words in the search queries. Sometimes the amounts of searches are on the small side, but those also come with really low competition numbers.

For instance, if a phrase had only 40 or 50 searches a month in exact match, but had no competition, I would certainly put up a blog post using that exact phrase as the title and the URL. Not only can phrases like this make your site fat with good content, but if you use the Evergreen method and pack a bunch more keywords and their modifiers into the article, you have got a golden page.

These keyword packages are great if you have a site in losing weight/dieting market. They are actually pretty good, even if you don’t have one yet but are planning a site in this market. They are great for building 3rd party sites, for making Blogger blogs, for Squidoo lenses, for putting together press releases. They are great for virtually any kind of content online. And best of all, the hard part of doing all the keyword research is already done for you.

These are the kinds of things I look for when I build my sites, and if I was going to build a site in this market, these are the kind of words i would use.
